Salman Khan starrer Bharat has earned Rs 167.60 crore. The film, which crossed the coveted Rs 150 crore mark in six days, earned Rs 8.30 crore on Tuesday.
Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh had tweeted, “#Bharat is steady on Day 7… Should cross ₹ 175 cr today [Day 8]… Wed 42.30 cr, Thu 31 cr, Fri 22.20 cr, Sat 26.70 cr, Sun 27.90 cr, Mon 9.20 cr, Tue 8.30 cr. Total: ₹ 167.60 cr. India biz.
The movie has become the biggest opener of Salman Khan’s career as it earned a whopping Rs 42.30 crore on day one. It is also the second highest grossing movie of 2019, second only to Vicky Kaushal’s military drama Uri: The Surgical Strike. It is likely that the Ali Abbas Zafar period drama might break Aditya Dhar film’s record.
Earlier, Salman Khan had made headlines as he repeatedly mentioned in several interviews how Priyanka Chopra had walked out of the movie at a crucial juncture.
“This is one of the amazing things Priyanka has done. It is a gutsy thing. She has worked so hard. I think she is one of the most hardworking actresses in Bollywood. It is so hard to keep a career here and there (the US). And then the most important film of her life, which would take her perhaps another 10-15 years to get…I mean, it is an amazing thing,” Salman had said during a media interaction.

Ali Abbas Zafar reveals an interesting story behind Bharat title
Bharat director Ali Abbas Zafar said he wanted the film to be more than the journey of Salman Khan's character and hence, he wanted the title that would suit the story and as well as the protagonist.
“I thought Ram is an ideal hero from mythology. Could the character be called Arjun because he is doing it for his dharma, karma? Or should he be called Karna, a selfless hero. What do I call the film? I felt if he is synonymous with what the nation has been over the generations, he should be named after the country. One night at 3AM, I was tossing on the bed, thinking hard, and then I had it: Bharat,” he told PTI.
Salman Khan on fitness regime for Bharat
"Putting on weight or cutting it down, both the journey's are difficult. We don't shoot everything at one stretch. It has usually 20 days or a month gap. In Bharat, for the younger role I had to lose a lot of weight. To shoot the middle-aged or old me, I had to put on weight. So, the journey was tough even though there was no action but to keep up the look, we had to go through it. It was painful because shoulder gives trouble, back gives trouble, never played tennis but tennis elbow comes in... you need to be on it," Salman Khan told Upasana Kamineni in an interview for a magazine.
