Nerkonda Paarvai trailer: The Ajith starrer is the remake of Bollywood hit Pink.The trailer of Nerkonda Paarvai was released on Wednesday. The film starring Tamil superstar Ajith as a formidable lawyer is the official Tamil remake of Bollywood hit Pink, which was received well both commercially and critically in 2016.
Nerkonda Paarvai is a timely film in light of the #MeToo movement as the film deals with the subject of consent.
Judging from the trailer, Ajith has brought his trademark emotional energy to the character, distinguishing his performance from Amitabh Bachchan’s Deepak. Like the calm before the storm, the trailer opens with key characters sitting quietly. Then we see Ajith in his lawyer’s robe facing Shraddha Srinath in the dock at a court. “Are you virgin?” Ajith asks twice. “No,” says Shraddha’s straight-faced Meera. And thus the conflict begins to build in the trailer.
After a few tense dialogues, we get the glimpses of high-voltage courtroom drama. There is back and forth exchange between Ajith and people in the witness box. He also indulges in a war of words with his rival lawyer, played by TV journalist Rangaraj Pandey.
Given that it is an Ajith film, director H. Vinoth has added a small dose of Ajithism. We see Ajith beating up bad guys and striking an action pose. Of course, meeting the approval of the core fan base is also equally important.
Ajith also packs a message in a punch line that is directed at fans, who engage in fan wars and trolling on social media. “Why do you insult others to show your loyalty to another person?”
Nerkonda Paarvai also stars Arjun Chidambaram, Abirami Venkatacham and Andrea Tariang among others. Vidya Balan will be seen in a cameo appearance in the H. Vinoth directorial.
