The projectile had injured a total of 26 civilian passengers from different nationalities which included three women and two Saudi children.
Around eight cases were transferred to the hospital for treatment for moderate injuries and 18 were treated at the site for minor injuries. The airport lounge was damaged and the military and security forces were working to determine the type of projectile used in the terrorist attack. As per the coalition the strike was a proof that the Houthis have acquired “advanced weapons from Iran” and the airport was struck with a cruise missile.
The terrorist militia’s acquisition of new special weapon shows Iranian regime’s support and practice of cross-border terrorism and the continued violation of relevant UN Security Council resolutions. This included Resolution 2216 and Resolution 2231 in a statement issued today.
To counter the immoral violations, the Command of Joint Forces of the Coalition will be taking urgent and timely measures to deter this terrorist militia and ensure the protection of civilians and civilian objects.
Terrorist operatives responsible for the planning and execution of this terrorist attack will be held accountable which will be in accordance with international humanitarian law and its customary rules.
