Fujifilm Instax Mini LiPlay hybrid camera announced, priced at $160

“Fujifilm Instax Mini LiPlay camera has Bluetooth support to connect your smartphone and control it remotely”

Fujifilm has announced the Instax Mini LiPlay camera that, like the company’s previous Instax Square SQ10, prints out photos instantly. The new Mini LiPlay has a 2.7-inch LCD display on the back instead of the viewfinder and the pictures can either be stored internally or a microSD card. Users’ can also customise the photos with six filters and up to 30 frames. The in-built battery is claimed to print up to 100 pictures on a single charge. It has a microUSB port for charging and connection to a computer.

Furthermore, Instax Mini LiPlay camera has Bluetooth support to connect your smartphone and control the camera remotely through LiPlay mobile app. There is also an option to print any of the images from the smartphone as well. What’s interesting is that there is a mic button using which users’ can record up to 10 seconds of audio, which is later converted to a QR code and printed on the corner of the picture. Scanning the QR code from the phone plays the audio clip. It uses a small 1/5-inch 5-megapixel digital CMOS sensor, and the photos measure at 3.4 by 2.1-inch despite the actual image being 2.4 by 1.8 inches (62 by 46 mm).

The Fujifilm Instax Mini LiPlay is priced at $160 and goes on sale starting June 14th (about Rs 11,092). Separately, Fujifilm claims that it has sold more than 40 million Instax models globally since its introduction in 1998.
