Police reprimand boy caught smoking ganja

Tirupur: A group of people handed over a corporation school student, who was found smoking ganja, to police on Tuesday.
The group had spotted eight school students, who were in uniform, smoking ganja behind a building near the parking lot of the town hall bus stand. Seven of them fled from the place after people confronted them. The group caught a class XI boy and informed the school management before handing him over to police.
Inquiries with the boy revealed that they had purchased the contraband from a peddler close to the school.
After police promised to take action against ganja peddlers, the school management also initiated steps to curb the menace on the campus.
Police let the student go with a warning.TNN
