A PLAY titled ‘Shastra Dekho Shastra’ was staged on Monday at Jawahar Bal Bhavan. The play was originally written by Bharat Ratna Bhargava and directed by K G Trivedi. Around 24 students including Shirish Khare, Pranjal Sharma, Kavya Purohit, Dhruv Acharya, Himank Tiwari, Anay Tiwari, Tanmay Saxena, Shlok Shukla, Sarthak Gadhwal, Rupesh Kose, Harsh Sarvaiya, Aditya Pandya, Prithvi Rajput, Anandita Tiwari, Rishita Singh, Taniska Balwate, Muskan Pandey, Prachi Shelke, Shalini Thavare, Abhishek Vishwakarma, and more who enacted the entire play on stage.
The music was given by Sunny Sen and Abhishek Vishwakarma on Tabla. The play revolves around 8 boys who are on their way back to home after gaining 12 years of superficial knowledge of Shastra. During their journey, they meet a camel and donkey.
With their theoretical knowledge from books they make donkey as brother and camel as religion and at the end gets beaten by the laundry man.
During their entire journey, these boys come across a lot of challenges and they make use of their bookish knowledge instead of practical ones, and end up becoming failures.
In the next scene, it is shown that they reach city and their also they all get caught. The message that was passed on to the audience was to focus on behavioral knowledge instead of theoretical knowledge.
