Man killed, friend injured in attack by eight

RAJKOT: A man was killed and his friend injured when they were attacked with knives and baseball bats by eight assailants at Madhavrai Chowk in Anjar of Kutch district on Tuesday night.
The deceased was identified as Faruq Sama (24) and the injured as Wasim Hothi (22).
Police booked Aman Ahir, Mamaiya Ahir, Paresh Joshi, Sawan Soni, Suraj Soni, Gopal Ahir, Kunal and their unidentified associate on the complaint of Hothi.
“In his complaint, Hothi said that he and Sama had a fight with Sawan and Suraj, and nursing a grudge against them, the accused had attacked them. One of the accused stabbed Sama in his chest. Sama was rushed to Anjar Civil Hospital where he was declared brought dead,” said an official from Anjar police station.
