THE SUPER SWITCH ★★½
7.30pm, Seven
There’s a lot of acting out of abandonment fears manifesting as jealously from both genders as the “switch couples” take a holiday from mansion life. Neither those in a Port Douglas hotel nor those camping in the NT bush can see the beauty of their surroundings, only their own misery through the bottom of a bottomless glass. A highlight is Ben’s “Oh No! A woman crying!” face.
THE GREAT HOUSE REVIVAL ★★★
7.30pm, SBS
If Grand Designs and Restoration had a baby it would probably look something like this Irish show, hosted by the man who is arguably that country’s most famous TV architect, Hugh Wallace. He’s a gentle, expressive guide to the first project – the restoration of a crumbling, leaking, ivy-covered stately home in County Mayo by a Perth cabinetmaker with ancestral roots in Tipperary, and an eye on the wedding industry.
MASTERCHEF AUSTRALIA ★★★
7.30pm, Ten
This resilient cook-off might play host to some of the world’s most famous cookbook bylines, but it’s often when a chef who’s not quite such a household name drops in that the most interesting times are had. This may well be the case when Phil Wood, celebrated chef at Pt Leo Estate on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula, tests his considerable skill against the winner of tonight’s challenge: make something yummy with Beluga caviar.
