MADURAI
Pulling up the Managing Director of Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation, Madurai, for failing to abide by its orders, the Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court on Tuesday summoned him to appear before it.
Hearing a contempt petition , Justice R. Suresh Kumar summoned the MD to ascertain his views in the case. The official was directed to be present before the court on June 17.
The court was hearing the contempt petition filed by P. Kannayeeram of Madurai, a retired TNSTC employee, who sought a direction to the Corporation to abide by the order of the court and settle his salary arrears. It is said that despite an undertaking given by the MD to settle the dues, the amount was not paid to the petitioner.
