US embassy launches mobile app to help Indian students

CHENNAI: The US embassy on Wednesday launched the EducationUSA India mobile app to provide accurate and comprehensive information to Indian students who want to study in the United States.
The app, developed by the US embassy and the United States-India Educational Foundation (USIEF), is available on iOS and Android platforms.
“This free app is the first point of information for students, parents, school counsellors and others who want to know about US higher education but don’t know where to begin,” says Aparna Chandrasekaran, advisor, EducationUSA.
EducationUSA is the official source of information on US higher education. The app which is easy to download links to other EducationUSA resources.
US Consulate General in Chennai along with four other consulates celebrated students visa day on Wednesday. The consulate general in Chennai had nearly 1,000 students for visa interviews on the student visa day.
Robert Burgess, US consul general in Chennai, presented the student visas to some of the students who cleared the interviews.
