MADURAI
A 37-year-old mason, V. Gopalakrishnan of Avaniyapuram, was killed at West Veli Street by a man, after the deceased misbehaved with the wife of the accused on Monday night.
The police said while coming out the railway station, the man under the influence of liquor, touched the woman inappropriately. Her husband, S. Balamurugan, 37, of Tirumangalam, assaulted the man with a boulder and a wooden log. Gopalakrishnan was rushed to Government Rajaji Hospital where he succumbed to injuries.
Thilagarthidal police have arrested the accused.
