Amroha: Seven of a family drown in Ganga

AMROHA: Seven members of a family drowned in Ganga while bathing at Brijghat on Monday evening. While five bodies had been recovered till Tuesday evening, efforts were on to trace two other bodies.
The deceased hailed from Luhari Khadar village under Hasanpur police station area of Amroha.
According to police, the family and their friends had gathered for a tonsure ceremony when tragedy struck. After the 'mundan' of the baby, both host and guests went to take a bath in the Ganga. Suddenly, two persons - Pappu and Dharamveer - started shouting for help as the swift current dragged them away, Hearing their cries, youths bathing on the other side of the bank, rushed to their rescue. When they swam into deep waters, they themselves drowned.
