Kingpin of fake notes gang held

Gurgaon: A day after a man was arrested from MG Road for allegedly luring people and getting fake currency notes exchanged with genuine ones, Delhi Police arrested the mastermind of the gang from east Delhi. Now, the Gurgaon police is trying to get the production remand of the accused to get more details of the gang’s operation.

Ghaziabad resident Sanjay was arrested from MG Road on Monday and fake currency worth Rs 6,100 and genuine currency of Rs 15,000 was recovered from his possession. “The accused was here in Gurgaon to exchange fake currency with genuine notes. He was offering Rs 5,000 (fake notes) in exchange of Rs 1,000,” an officer said.
Police said it came to light during interrogation that Sanjay was part of a gang operating from Ghaziabad. The gang was active in Delhi, Haryana and UP. It has around six members and the mastermind of the gang is one RK.
