It was an exciting kick off at the launch of the United National Games 2019, 6th National Championships at the Peddem Grounds, Mapusa. Teams from across 15 states like Goa, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Naidu, Punjab, Bihar, Odisha and others are amongst those participating in 20 sporting disciplines.
Athletes from diverse sports including table tennis, football, basketball, cricket, volleyball, athletics, archery, badminton battled it out for the top prize.
The event was inaugurated at the hands of Pankaj Gavale (Founder and President of Sanyukta Bhartiya Khel Foundation) and Shiva Tiwari (General Secretary of Sanyukta Bhartiya khel foundation) on June 10.
Speaking at the inaugural, Gavale expressed his gratitude to the players attending and welcomed them to the mega event. The venues are Peddem, Don Bosco school, Bambolim and Fatorda.
Amongst the many luminaries from the sporting fraternity national level Table Tennis player Santosh Singh was pleased to be invited by the organisers.
“I am happy that Pankaj Savale Sir invited me for this tournament. I’m proud to play for the country and Goa is a beautiful place to play. I wish all the players my best,” he said.
In the matches that followed, he won against Kerala with a smashing score of 11-0, 11-2, 11-6.
The two day tournament is hosted by Indu Shree Organisation India and organised by Sanyukta Bhartiya Khel Foundation. The organisation works to provide the best sports facilities to sportspeople from across the country.
