People are not traveling to South Louisiana for entertainment purposes. They’re heading over to the northern part of the state as well.

Last year was a major year for the state of Louisiana. Around 51.3 million people traveled to Louisiana, making it a whopping nine percent increase. In nine years, it was the largest increase in percentage.

In the forthcoming years, the state expects to add docking facilities for the Viking cruise lines and arrange more horse events in North Louisiana. Also, Nungesser mentioned that Shreveport will be hosting the Olympic volleyball trials and Ruston will be organizing a little league world series.

“We don’t have to try and drag them out of the city and south Louisianan after they get here. On their agenda, they’ve got all the great places to visit in north Louisiana before they get here.”

There has been a 37 percent increase in international visits in North Louisiana,” said Billy Nungesser.

The state has endorsed the historical activities that are here in North Louisiana for some time now. Those activities comprise Poverty Point, Poverty Point Reservoir, the Biedenharm Museum, the Chennault Museum and the Coca-Cola Museum.

Nungesser expects all the new and historical activities will continue to help North Louisiana to grow.
