MUMBAI: Brace for strong gusty winds and rains on Tuesday evening as well. Weathermen have credited such weather conditions to the Cyclone Vayu, which has developed in the Arabian sea.
Cyclone Vayu was about 630 km south-southwest of Mumbai till last updated by the India Meteorological Department (IMD). It is not going to hit Mumbai and will move nearly northwards and intensify further to cross Gujarat coast during early morning hours of June 13, IMD said. This, however, would give rains and strong winds to the city.

"Vayu is very likely to move nearly northward and cross Gujarat coast between Porbandar and Mahuva around Veraval and Diu region as a severe cyclonic storm with wind speed of 110-120 kmph gusting to 135 kmph during early morning of June 13," said IMD.
Weather officials said that warnings to fisherman were already in place for the Maharashtra and Goa coast. "The fishermen are advised not to venture into Southeast Arabian Sea, Lakshadweep area, along & off Kerala and Karnataka on June 11. Those, who are out in deep sea areas are advised return to the coast," said a statement from IMD.
