All the accused were arrested on different dates and produced during a press conference by district Superintendent of Police M. Malla Reddy on Monday.

Mr. Reddy said a joint team of Agriculture and police officials arrested Madugula Subba Reddy, Muta Santosh and Pera Shekhar from Sirpur (T) town and seized unlicenced cotton seeds from them.

On information given by the three accused, the team arrested the kingpin, Katta Hanumanth Rao, from Ballarshah in Maharashtra and seized the cash from his possession which is allegedly money earned from sale of the fake seeds, the SP added.

Hanumanth Rao already has two cases against his name in Chintalamanepalli police station.
