Goa: ‘Health dept working on keeping Nipah at bay’ PANAJI: Health minister Vishwajit Rane has asked the state not to panic over Nipah virus as all standard procedures are followed to keep the virus at bay. In view of detection of Nipah virus in Kerala, Rane conducted a review meeting on Monday.

“I will be visiting Kerala this week,” Rane said.

A health official said that though Goa was not on high alert, they are not ignorant about it.

The Centre had rushed a six-member team to Kerala last week after a college student was tested positive for Nipah virus. More than 80 persons are under medical observation for suspected Nipah infection.
