Fake scholarship message keeps VMC officials on toes

VADODARA: Officials of the Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) were kept on their toes after a message on social media that the civic body would be distributing forms for a scholarship scheme for standard 10 and standard 12 students.
The civic body had to face several inquiries regarding the scholarship scheme. Those eyeing the scholarship told the officials that they had received a message on a chat application regarding the scheme. The message had stated that VMC was to distribute the forms for the scheme.
After confirming that there was no such scheme, the VMC had to issue a clarification later in the day. It even appealed to people that they should not forward the message or inform others about the scheme.
