How does F1 react to Vettel’s Canadian GP penalty fan fallout?

The dust has now settled from the controversial Canadian Grand Prix and the 5-second time penalty given to Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel that cost him victory, but where does the championship battle stand now?

Criticism has been levelled at the rule makers, stewards and even teams and drivers for the arrival at the point where F1 rules are as black and white as they can get.
