Egypt has yet to get its reasonable share of African tourism, Othman added, explaining that the football stars in the Africa Cup of Nations would be a great chance to endorse tourist destinations, particularly cultural tourism.
Othman in a recent statement said that the marketing committee has a plan to promote cultural tourism via tourism programs concerning the international players taking part in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.
Othman explained that he talked about ways to execute the proposal with officials, even with the short of time.
He further added that the mascot of the tournament, representing a young King Tutankhamun, would expectantly attract more attention to Pharaonic tourist attractions.
Othman highlighted that the need of taking benefit of the presence of these football stars in Egypt, besides publishing visual content of different destinations on social media, to promote the country’s tourism.
He declared the importance of taking the benefit of the Africa tournament, by organizing tourist programs that merge adventure, entertainment and cultural tourism. As per Othman, World Development Indicators for 2018 established that the percentage of incoming tourism to the African continent doubled between 2000 and 2016 and that the rate of tourism expenditure increased by 150 percent in that time.
