The week long Doughnut festival that started on June 6th at The Chocolate Box and Lounge, MBD Neopolis mall concluded on Tuesday. The idea of having a snack and dessert at the same time clicked with the people of Ludhiana and there was great curiosity and excitement among people to know more about the festival. 

June 7 th was celebrated as National Donuts day. Pastry Chef Amit Porwal said that the doghnuts that were served at the festival included Nutella, apple crumble, nougat, raspberry, lime infused blueberry, pistachio and other varieties apart from the regular ones so that people looking for the artisan doughnuts could pick one of their choice and taste. He said people who always look for something tasty and sweet, the Doughnut Festival at the chocolate box and lounge was treat for them.

He said National Doughnut Day is celebrated in the United States, is on the first Friday of June of each year, succeeding the Doughnut event created by The Salvation Army in Chicago in 1938 to honor those of their members who served doughnuts to soldiers during World War I.

He said now most of bakeries in India also look forward to celebrate doughnut festival as people travel to lot to USA for there leisure and business trips and the look forward for international festivals in there own city.
