Adityanath calls on ailing Mulayam

LUCKNOW: The bitter battle the two parties fought ahead of the Lok Sabha election was set aside on Monday when BJP's UP CM Yogi Adityanath called on Samajwadi Party patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav (MSY) to enquire about his health, a day after Yadav was hospitalised in Lucknow for high blood pressure. MSY was discharged the same day after his condition appeared to have stabilised.

The other surprise visitor at the meeting on Monday was Akhilesh Yadav's estranged uncle, Shivpal, who went along with Yogi. Shivpal had parted ways with the family to form his own party in 2018. Yogi presented MSY a rose and a book on the Kumbh Mela. MSY, it is reported, was in good spirits through the meeting where Akhilesh, too, was present with two of his children.
Hours after the meeting, however, MSY was flown to Delhi and admitted to a private super-speciality hospital for further treatment.
