UP: 12-year-old gang-raped in front of parents in Kushinagar, 4 arrested

GORAKHPUR: A 12-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped in Uttar Pradesh's Kushinagar district on Friday evening by six men who had a dispute with her family over the construction of a drain. The crime took place in front of the minor's parents who were restrained and thrashed by the men.
Four of the accused have been arrested while two are still at large. A complaint was filed by the survivor's mother late on Saturday, alleging that the row snowballed on Friday, following which her daughter was dragged out of their home and gang-raped by six men in front of them. When the distraught parents tried to resist, they were allegedly thrashed.

A case was registered on Sunday morning and four accused were arrested. Teams have been formed to trace the remaining two, said Kushinagar SP RN Mishra "The six accused have been booked under various sections of the IPC, besides relevant sections of the POCSO and SC/ST Acts" Mishra added.
The survivor is under treatment at a district hospital. Her condition is said to be stable.
