Huawei could soon unveil a new P30 variant as a smartphone with model number ELE-AL00m with 12GB of RAM appeared on Chinese certification site TENAA. To jog your memory, the Huawei P30 is currently only available in 6GB and 8GB RAM variants, backed by 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB storage options. However, it isn’t clear if the brand would ever launch the new model globally, or it would be limited to its home soil, China. Of course, the company could end up deciding to not launch the 12GB RAM variant of Huawei P30 at all, so we will have to wait a little.

To recall, the Huawei P30 is powered by the in-house HiSilicon 7nm Kirin 980 chipset and has an in-display fingerprint sensor. It sports a 6.1-inch full-HD+ OLED HDR Display with DCI-P3 colour gamut and Huawei’s Acoustic technology that vibrates the screen to produce sound. The handset boots Android 9.0 Pie with EMUI 9.0 on top. It comes equipped with a triple camera set up on the rear with a 40-megapixel f/1.8 primary lens, a 16-megapixel ultra wide-angle sensor, and an 8-megapixel depth sensor with 3x zoom. It can shoot 4K videos at 60fps and offer features include time-lapse, slow-mo, and a dual-view mode. It features a 3,650mAh battery with 40W SuperCharge fast-charging tech on board.

Separately, Huawei recently rolled out a new update to the P30 Pro that brings ‘dual-view’ video function allowing users to record videos from two different angles at the same time. It also includes a new AR Measure app to leverage on the handset’s 3D ToF sensor to enable an AR-based measurement tool.
