On completing four years of ‘Selfie With Daughter’ campaign, Sunil Jaglan, the man behind the movement, is now looking for a face from a minority community to be the brand ambassador of the programme.
Mr. Jaglan said the objective of the programme, which was launched at Haryana’s Bibipur village in Jind on June 9, 2015, is to empower women by making them aware of their rights and promoting education.
He said he now wants the message to be more effectively propagated to Nuh, which figures in the list of hundred most backward areas in the country.
“Among the 22 districts in Haryana, Nuh is the most backward with poor health and education infrastructure. The school dropout rate among girls is high. We have decided to choose a Muslim woman to be the face of our programme. It will disseminate the message more effectively among women in Nuh,” said Mr. Jaglan.
Forms to initiate the selection process for brand ambassador were distributed on Sunday at a function to mark the fourth anniversary of the programme at Patuka village, he said.
Mr. Jaglan added that he was looking for a woman with good oratory skills and leadership qualities and there were no conditions fixed for minimum qualification or age.
