With temperatures rising again in the city, the Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) has issued an advisory asking public not to expose themselves to direct sunlight between 11 am to 4 pm to avoid sunstroke.

The sky condition is likely to be partly cloudy in next 24 hours with maximum and minimum temperatures likely to be around 40 degree Celsius and 30 degree Celsius respectively, stated the RMC.
Several other places in the State are likely to witness a maximum temperature above normal including Tiruvallur, Kancheepuram, Tiruvannamalai, Vellore, Villupuram, Cuddalore, Puducherry, Tiruchy, Karur, Perambalur, Madurai and Dindigul.
Even as the temperatures are expected to increase 2-3 degree above normal in the city, a few districts including Kanniyakumari, Theni, Coimbatore and the Nilgiris are expected to receive rainfall in next 24 hours.
Thunderstorm accompanied by gusty winds with speed of 30-40 kmph and lightning is likely to occur at isolated places including Dindigul, Madurai, Krishnagiri, Dharmapuri, Tiruchy, Pudukottai and Sivaganga.
Weather blogger Pradeep John stated that Kanniyakumari received rainfall on Saturday and the monsoon will pick up in various regions of Kerala and Tamil Nadu as monsoon clouds moves towards the coast.
