New Audi RS5 Sportback And Coupe “Audi Sport” Editions Arrive In The UK

Audi UK is launching the five-door RS5 Sportback for the first time in the country in the limited ‘Audi Sport’ edition, together with the RS5 Coupe.

The new ‘Audi Sport’ edition of the new RS5 Sportback and Coupe will be limited to just 250 examples for each bodystyle this year, offering a unique specification and more equipment as standard.

From the outside, both variants of the RS5 feature a set of 20-inch alloy wheels with an anthracite finish, privacy glass and high-gloss black detailing on the grille surround, window cappings and door mirror housings. The normally optional Audi Sport exhaust is also fitted as standard.

The interior features Nappa leather combined with Alcantara and diamond stitching on the RS super sports seats, piano black inlays, a panoramic glass sunroof, all-LED lighting and of course the digital Audi Virtual Cockpit cluster with RS-specific displays.

Things like Apple Carplay and Android Auto, MMI Navigation Plus, LTE Internet Connectivity, Audi Side Assist Blindspot Monitoring and Hill Hold Assist are also part of the standard equipment list.

Power still comes from the twin-turbo 2.9-liter V6 engine, producing 444hp (450PS) and 442lb-ft (600Nm) of torque. Paired to it is a specially-tuned eight-speed automatic transmission and a beefed-up Quattro all-wheel drive system with a self-locking center differential and a 40:60 torque split front-to-rear.

The five-door RS5 Sportback is officially capable of pulling the 0-62mph (100km/h) in 3.9 seconds and achieve a top speed of up to 174mph (280km/h), the latter if you tick the relevant option box in the list.

Offering the RS5 in the Sportback bodystyle means than you can now have a proper five-seat liftback with a 480-liter luggage capacity, the ability to hit the 62mph in less than four seconds and the reassuring all-weather grip provided by the Quattro all-wheel drive system in one package.

Audi is now accepting orders for the new RS5 ‘Audi Sport’ edition models, with the Sportback priced from £68,985 . The first UK deliveries will arrive later this month.
