Labourer falls 30 feet to death at Mumbai Central station

MUMBAI: A 30-year-old labourer lost his life after he fell 30 feet at Mumbai Central railway station on Monday. Hariram Verma was working with four of his colleagues on the roof when he fell on platform number 2 (local line) of the station at noon. He was rushed to the Nair Hospital at Mumbai Central with severe head injuries. But doctors pronounced him dead.

Witnesses said the spot where Verma fell on the platform was covered in blood. Verma used to live in Kurla. He is survived by his wife and two children who live in their hometown at Uttar Pradesh.
The Mumbai Central GRP have recorded a case of accidental death. Police said they will conduct a probe and if negligence is found, an FIR would be lodged.
