Pune: A downpour accompanied by strong winds on Sunday evening led to several incidents of tree felling and waterlogging in different parts of the city. Electricity outage and fluctuation was reported in different parts of the city.
According to the Pune fire fighting department, about 15 incidents of tree felling were reported in areas of Kothrud, Apte Road, Karve Nagar, Gokhale Nagar, Shivajinagar, Model Colony, Mangalwar Peth, Rasta Peth, Raviwar Peth, Baner, Tadiwala Road, Yerawda, Koregaon Park, Sinhagad Road and Lokmanya Nagar. Tree felling was reported in Bhosari, Kudalwadi, YCM Hospital and other areas of Pimpri Chinchwad. Traffic was slowed due to heavy rains, while waterlogging was reported in Vishrantwadi, Alandi Road and Wakdewadi and the Veer Chapekar underpass.
One electricity pole fell in Kudalwadi and power supply was affected for a few minutes in Dhanori and Shivajinagar areas.
City traffic department said incidents of waterlogging and tree felling impacted traffic for a few minutes, but situation became normal after the rains stopped.
