Veteran playwright and actor Girish Karnad passed away on June 10, 2019 aged 81. Karnad acted in several plays and movies that have received critical acclamation. A recipient of Jnanpith Award, he was also conferred the Padma Shri in 1974 and the Padma Bhushan in 1992. Here's a brief timeline of his life and achievements.
