JAIPUR: State universities have failed to introduce any new degree programme in the upcoming academic year. The state has 25 public universities with over 3000 affiliated colleges including 235 government colleges that won’t have any courses in the academic session 2019. It will give private universities an upper edge as they introduce new courses every year. Premier universities like Rajasthan University, Maharshi Dayanand Saraswati University, Mohan Lal Sukhadia University, Jai Narain Vyas Univesity and others have repeated the same courses.
“RU, being a premier university, is expected to introduce new courses almost every second year as majority of students eye to get admission here. In absence of new age courses, students head out of state or enrol with private universities that introduce courses every year,” said an RU official.
