A Sudanese national was arrested by the Kempegowda International Airport police for allegedly manhandling CISF personnel on Monday.

The arrested, Khalid, 25, is a resident of Hegde Nagar and has been booked under Section 353 (obstruction of public servant from discharging their duty) of the Indian Penal Code.

According to the police, the incident occurred around 11.30 p.m. when Khalid walked in with an expired visa. His visa had expired six months ago and he did not know where to get it renewed. He walked into the terminal and was stopped by the CISF, with whom he had heated arguments.

There was a communication gap when Khalid was asking where he could renew his visa even as the CISF officials denied him entry to the airport as he had no flight ticket or any valid travel documents, the police said.

The argument escalated and Khalid allegedly roughed up the CISF officials. They soon called the police, who rushed to the spot and took him to a hospital, where his medical examination was done.
