Southern California Amusement Parks evacuated due to bush fire

In Santa Clarita, 35 miles northwest of Los Angeles at around noon the fire erupted scorching 40 acres f grass and scrub along the Santa Clara River by late afternoon.
Within several hours firefighter could manage to halt the advance of the blaze. The dispatcher mentioned that they were carving containment lines around 20 percent of its perimeter.

 

County sheriff’s detective Oleg Polissky said that no homes or commercial buildings in the sparsely populated area were in danger from the fire.

 

Heavy smoke wafted into Six Flags Magic Mountain amusement park and the adjacent Hurricane Harbor water park, a tree on the edge of the water park is known to catch fire.
Six Flags stated on Twitter that – The safety and well being of our guests and team members is our top priority” and “Six Flags Magic Mountain and Hurricane Harbor are currently being evacuated due to the Sky Incident brush fire,”

 

There were notices online stating the closure of the parks for the day.

 

 

By authorities’ brief closure of exit roads, the departure of park visitors was delayed for about an hour.So far nine people were treated for smoke and heat related issues from the fire but no one was seriously hurt.

 

The reason behind the blaze was under investigation and the flames erupted as daytime temperatures in Santa Clarita went up to 90s Fahrenheit.

 

 

After weeks of unseasonably cool, damp weather renewing concerns about a resurgence of summertime wildfires across the state. Warmer, dryer conditions are returning to California.

 

 

As a as a precaution against dry, windy conditions that pose a heightened risk of wildfires on Saturday night, utility Pacific Gas and Electric Corp shut off power to some 27,000 customers across five northern California counties in the Sierra foothills.

 

Areas in and around Paradise,a town largely incinerated last November by the deadliest and most destructive California wildfire on record, which claimed more than 80 lives in under the precautionary blackout included areas.
