A woman who was left serious injured when she was trampled by cows had been trying to protect her grandchild from the charging herd.
The woman was out walking with her grandchild and two dogs along a footpath towards Crimpiau, Capel Curig in Conwy when the incident happened at around 1pm.
Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue Team, paramedics and the Wales Air Ambulance were called to the scene , and the woman was flown to the Stoke Hospital with serious injuries.
Her granddaughter was taken to Ysbyty Glan Clwyd for treatment, but was released shortly after.
The woman's condition is currently unknown, but she remains in hospital.
Two mountain bikers who were in the area at the time had initially attempted to chase the herd away, but shortly after, the cows began to charge again.
The grandmother was seriously injured after being trampled by the cows on while protecting her grandchild.
It is understood the child and her grandmother were assisted by passers by at the time, who managed to call for help.

Following the incident, one of the dogs had gone missing, but was found later in the day, according to the Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue Organisation.
In a statement published on its Facebook page today, a spokesman said: "A woman was walking on the footpath from Capel Curig toward Crimpiau with her 6 year old granddaughter and 2 small dogs on their leads.
"They were charged by a heard of cows but 2 mountain bikers chased the cows away.
"Shortly after, the cows charged again and the woman was trampled while protecting the child.
"Severely injured, she was assisted by passers by and both an ambulance and the air ambulance were tasked.
"The team were called to carry the woman from the hill to the air ambulance where she was flown to Stoke trauma centre.
"Her granddaughter was taken to Ysbyty Glan Clwyd for treatment but was released a short time later.
"Initially one of the dogs was missing but was found safely later in the day."
