Justin Bieber bizarrely challenges Tom Cruise to FIGHT him in UFC match... with MMA champion Conor McGregor offering to host

He's known for his spontaneity.

Yet Justin Bieber left fans feeling bemused as he challenged Tom Cruise to fit him in a UFC match in what appeared to be a random unprovoked request.

Taking to Twitter on Sunday, the 25-year-old singer goaded the actor, 56, into facing him in the ring, calling on the current President of the Ultimate Fighting Championship to host the event.

Justin tweeted:  'I wanna challenge Tom Cruise to fight in the octagon. Tom if you dont take this fight your scared and you will never live it down.

'Who is willing to put on the fight? @danawhite ?'

Whilst Dana has yet to respond to the singer, one UFC star has offered to help out, with former UFC featherweight and lightweight champion, Colin McGregor, volunteering to host.

He shared Justin's post, adding: 'If Tom Cruise is man enough to accept this challenge, McGregor Sports and Entertainment will host the bout. Does Cruise have the sprouts to fight, like he does in the movies? Stay tuned to find out!'

It's not clear why Justin targeted Tom for the challenge, as there's no evidence the pair have even met before, let alone have any issues they need to take out in the ring.

However, Tom is renowned for his athleticism and dare devil attitude, often performing his own stunts in action movies.

The father-of-three famously broke his ankle filming Mission: Impossible 6 last year, prompting the CEO of Paramount Pictures Jim Gianopulos to admit it's impossible to prevent Tom - a 'force of nature' - from defying the odds to make his blockbuster movies.

Gianopulos said the star refuses offers to use stunt doubles or green screens to fake action scenes and does it 'because he needs to'.

And the powerhouse studio executive admits that he tries not to think about the insurance premiums should anything go wrong.

Asked about the stress of working with Cruise constantly risking his life with stunts, Gianopulos said: 'I try and stay out of the insurance issue, but there is no stopping Cruise.

'Tom is his own great force of nature. It was invented for Tom.

'He does it, because he needs to. He feels the need to show practically how committed he is to the films, to the work, to doing it in a way that you can't replicate.

'We can do all kinds of green screen and effects, but there's nothing like seeing Tom hanging from the top of the tallest building on the planet Earth, or driving a helicopter, which even the helicopter company was unsure the craft could do.

'I mean the man is extraordinary.'

Meanwhile, Justin will no doubt be able to get some tips from world champion boxer, Floyd Mayweather, who has given Justin some boxing tips in the past.
