“Huawei Nova 5i is expected to feature Kirin 710 SoC, run on Android 9.0 Pie and pack up to 6GB of RAM”

Huawei Nova 5 and Nova 5i launch could be right around the corner going by the pace of leaks and rumours. Recently the Nova 5 screen protector and back cover leaked online, showcasing the quad rear cameras, 3.5mm audio jack and more. Now, after being spotted on AnTuTu, the Huawei Nova 5i appeared on the Geekbench benchmark platform with model number GLK-LX2. The handset managed to score 1516 in single-core while 5193 points in the multi-core test, in-line with the chipset performance.

Furthermore, the listing suggests the phone would indeed come with 1.71GHz octa-core Kirin 710 SoC with Mali-G51 and run on Android 9.0 Pie with EMUI 9.0 on top. While the 4GB RAM variant spotted on Geekbench sports model number GLK-LX3, the 6GB RAM model bears number GLK-LX3. Though display size isn’t known, the AnTuTu listing suggests it could sport a full-HD+ screen with 1,080 X 2,310 pixels resolution. Unfortunately, nothing beyond this is known about the Nova 5i at the moment.

Separately, Huawei is also working on the Nova 5 smartphone. It is expected to come with Kirin 980 SoC and sport a 6.39-inch AMOLED display. The handset is likely to have an in-display fingerprint sensor for biometric security and pack 4,200mAh battery with 40W fast charging support. As for the optics, the Huawei Nova 5 is said to feature quad rear camera setup consisting of a 48MP Sony IMX586 primary lens, a 12.3-megapixel secondary sensor, and a Sony IMX316 ToF sensor. On the front, there is a 25-megapixel Sony IMX576 snapper for selfies and video chats. Rumours suggest that Huawei is expected to announce the Nova series handsets later this month, so we should know more details then.
