Ludhiana: After shifting Navjot Singh Sidhu from the local bodies department to the power department, the sudden transfer orders of municipal corporation DSP B S Sekhon has come as a surprise.
Where some civic officials are claiming it to be an obvious action, while others say DSP Sekhon might have had demanded transfer on his own after the inquiry report of the CLU scam of a housing project on the Gill Road was highlighted.
Sources revealed that the day Navjot Singh Sidhu was given the charge of power ministry, transfer orders of DSP Sekhon were also issued the same day.
He has now been transferred to Bahadurgarh in Patiala. Sekhon is on leave these days and his transfer has raised many questions.
Notably, DSP Sekhon was given the task to inquire the CLU scam in Ludhiana. In his report, it was established that the CLU of the land was done illegally. The report reached the opposition leaders, who alleged that cabinet minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu was also involved in the case.
An audio of argument between Ashu and Sekhon had also gone viral where Ashu was heard warning Sekhon for not interfering in the works beyond his jurisdiction. Much hue and cry was created over the report and the chief minister, Amarinder Singh, had also marked an inquiry in the case.
Already, a blue-eyed officer of Sidhu had taken transfer from Ludhiana to Amritsar. Therefore, chances are that Sekhon might have taken transfer on his own.
