T’puram: Kerala NGO Union’s 56th state conference will conclude here on Tuesday evening. A massive rally and public meeting, which will be attended by around 25,000 government employees, will mark the conclusion of the four-day-long conference.
The city police announced
traffic regulation on the entire stretch between LMS Junction and East Fort from 3pm to 7pm as part of the rally which will begin from Palayam at 3pm. Traffic will be regulated along Public Library, Martyr’s Column, VJT Junction, Spencer Junction, Statue, Ayurveda College, Overbridge, Pazhavangadi and East Fort. Parking of vehicles along the stretch will be prohibited on Tuesday and vehicles that arrive with NGO Union members are directed to follow the instructions provided by city traffic police to avoid traffic congestions.
Once the procession begins at 3pm from the Connemara Market, all the vehicles moving towards East Fort and Thampanoor are directed to turn left from Public Library and take an alternate route via Nandavanam-Bakery Junction -Panavila stretch. There will also be possible deviations in other parts of the city based on traffic density.
Vehicles arriving to the city with union workers through the NH are directed to take the Kazhakkoottam bypass and proceed to Chackai from where they will have to take a turn and move towards General Hospital Junction to reach Ashan Square where they can drop the passengers. Afterwards the vehicles are directed to take a U-turn and proceed towards East Fort via Vanchiyoor-Kaithamukku route. After reaching East Fort the vehicles then have to proceed towards Attuakal Devi Temple for parking.
