STRANGE ANGEL Series return ★★★½
10 Access
This deliciously dark period thriller that combines World War II with an occult sect continues to mine the depths of depravity against the stylish backdrop of a Pasadena mansion. As notorious real-life cult leader, Aleister Crowley, new cast member Angus Macfadyen is suitably charismatic, embodying all that was forbidden in wartime America. Through rocket scientist, Jack Parsons (Jack Reynor), we see how easy it can be to be lured.
AGE OF CONSENT Series return ★★★
8.35pm, SBS Viceland
Justin Payne, one of the more prominent of the apparent army of YouTube vigilante paedophile hunters who out online sex predators, comes across as a committed saviour of children with an understandable personal motivation. As righteous as he seems, given the evidence he reveals, a clinical psychologist's alternative strategy for dealing with offenders gives pause for thought. This is a challenging expose of a crime Payne coins "first degree murder of the soul".
THE GRAHAM NORTON SHOW 8.30pm, Ten ★★★
Crowd favourite Doctor Who, David Tennant, is on the couch tonight at this convivial gathering of famous people. Alongside Michael Sheen, his co-star in Terry Pratchett’s Prime series, Good Omens, Tennant should bring plenty of wit to the occasion. Gloria Estefan joins them to discuss her musical, On Your Feet; and the Jonas Brothers perform their hit, Sucker. Prince of the soft plug, Graham Norton, could surely do this by now with his eyes closed.
