CAPTAIN TALK
Virat Kohli: We are gonna bat first, looks a nice wicket. It's been used before and it'll get slower as the sgame goes on. Best conditions to bat first and put some runs on the board. The bowling attack can put pressure on the opposition in the second half. The batsmen would be wary about the situation. Scoreboard pressure does matter in a tournament like the World Cup. With the sun out at the Oval, it's a no brainer to bat first. It's been used before so there is not much moisture in the pitch. It looked hard, nice and dry. We think it's gonna play nicely and the bat will come on to the bat. We are playing with the same line-up because we have a nice balance. The bowling line-up was balanced and we had depth in our batting, everyone's in good spirit and we need to execute the same plans that we did in the last game.
Aaron Finch: I would have batted first. It's a dry surface, might get slower later. I think in the World Cup you are playing against different oppositions, good chance for the players to get out there and express themselves. You look at every situation, we are going with the same playing XI. We didn't have the best of the games in the previous match.
TEAM NEWS: Both Australia and India unchanged from their respective last match.
TOSS NEWS: Virat Kohli wins the toss and India will bat first.
1:55 pm And here's a look at the pitch
1:50 pm As we approach toss time, there seems to be a fan frenzy at The Oval as the social media suggests.
Welcome to another big-match day at the World Cup, and The Oval in London is all set to welcome a full house, largely donning the shades of the Indian tricolour. It's the clash of the titans, between Virat Kohli's India and Aaron Finch's defending champions Australia. It's a match-up between two-time winners and an overwhelming five-time champions wearing the traditional Aussie green and gold.
If India began this World Cup with a thumping win over the South Africans, Australia already have two wins in the bag -- over Afghanistan and the West Indies.
So without much ado then, here's the Timesofindia.com's VIDEO PREVIEW as the perfect appetizer ahead of the toss:
