Chennai:
Titled Mosadi, the film is all set to hit the screens on June 14. Talking to DT Next about it, the director of the film Jagadeesan says, “We started shooting for this film a year ago. However, I feel that the script is still relevant and will easily connect with the audience. Its an interesting thriller, with all commercial elements in the right place.”
The director also added that the film has been censored with an U ceriticate and even the board members appreciated the film for its content. “Many scenes in this film are based on true events and we have done a lot of research for the same. It’s about how big shots in the city managed to convert their black money into white despite demonetisation. The climax sequence of the film reveals a shocking information which many aren’t aware of, yet.” the director says. The lead characters are newcomers and major portions of the film were shot in Dharmapuri, Namakkal and Salem. Jagadeesan also tells us that he will finalise on his next, only after this film’s release.
Vijay’s Mersal, which was released in 2017, was mired in controversies, as a scene in the film took a jibe at BJP-led central government's demonetisation policy. The members of Bharatiya Janata Party claimed that the dialogues insulted Centre’s policies and even filed a case to ban the film.
Now, after almost three years, a Tamil filmmaker has come up with a project that completely revolves around demonetisation and its after-effects.
