A boy has been airlifted to Gold Coast University Hospital in a critical condition after a boating incident on the Sunshine Coast.

Two men were being treated for hypothermia by paramedics after being brought to shore by a marine rescue crew.

Emergency services received a call just after 1.30am on Sunday following reports of a boat taking on water about 14 kilometres off the coast of Caloundra.
