The DMK cadre clashed in the presence of newly-elected Perambur DMK MLA R.D. Sekar while he was taking out a rally in Kodungaiyur on Friday night.
Mr. Sekar was going door-to-door thanking the voters in the constituency. N. Dhanasekar, secretary, and N. Karthiban, deputy secretary, were organising the rally. At one point, Mr. Karthiban accused Mr. Dhanasekar of taking the MLA’s vehicle in a wrong direction. Both sides hurled stones at each other.
Mr. Dhanasekar and his family were injured. They have lodged a complaint with the Commissioner.
