AP boy tops TS-EAMCET in engineering stream

82.47% students qualify in engg. stream and 93.01% in agriculture and allied stream

Kuriseti Ravi Sri Teja, a boy from Tadepalligudem in West Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh, has secured the top rank in the engineering stream of Telangana EAMCET-2019, the entrance test conducted for admission into engineering, agriculture, pharmacy and allied courses at undergraduate level, the results of which were announced here on Sunday.

Master Sri Teja has scored 150.809 marks out of 160 marks in TS-EAMCET with a combined score of 95.483. In the agriculture, pharmacy and allied stream, Empati Kushwanth of Bhupalapalli got the first rank by scoring 155.976 marks out of 160 with a combined score of 97.947.

Results of TS-EAMCET 2019 were released formally by Chairman of Telangana State Council for Higher Education (TSCHE) T. Papi Reddy on JNTU-H campus here on Sunday. Vice-Chancellor of JNTU-H A. Venugopal Reddy, TS-EAMCET convenor N. Yadaiah and co-convenor M. Manzoor Hussain were also present on the occasion.

Prof. Yadaiah said 1,08,213 (82.47%) out of 1,31,209 students who appeared for the entrance examination in the engineering stream and 63,758 (93.01%) out of 68,550 students who took the written test in the agriculture, pharmacy and allied stream qualified for applying for admission.

Prof. Papi Reddy said counselling for admission into engineering, agriculture, pharmacy and allied courses was expected to commence around June 20. The schedule for counselling would be announced later as the process of affiliation of colleges under the purview of JNTU-H, OU, Kakatiya University and MG University was under completion.
