HYDERABAD: For Empati Kushwanth,
son of a tailor in Bhupalpally district in Telangana, the dream of being the first doctor in the family only got bigger after he emerged as the topper in agriculture and medical stream in the
Telangana Eamcet.
After losing his father, Kushwanth’s only dream was to support his mother who has been the breadwinner for the family. Educated in Sri Chaitanya Junior College’s Hydernagar branch, he secured all India rank 16 in Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research’s (JIPMER) entrance test. However, the student has his eyes set on the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi.
“I was always scared of Science as a subject. I wanted to defeat that fear and hence decided to pursue MBBS. I see myself as a neurosurgeon in future. Since I secured good marks in JIPMER and now Eamcet, I am confident that I will secure a seat in AIIMS,” said Empati.
Studying for almost 12 hours every day, Kushwanth had secured a perfect 10 CGPA in class 10. “I used to attend college from 6 to 10 am and then study for another 10 hours,” he said.
