Beauty Beat: How a pre-flight facial will transform your travel routine
Road Test
This week I'm planning … a pre-flight facial
The lowdown I'm leaving on a jet plane, so I'm keen to try the La Prairie Art of Luxury treats on offer to devotees of the brand travelling through Sydney International Airport. One option is a luxe facial in the beauty suite, available with any La Prairie purchase made on the day of travel. This includes a deep cleanse and facial massage using Platinum Rare, Skin Caviar or White Caviar products. Option two is an express service at the counter to get you primed for your flight. Here, I like the sound of the hand and arm massage and the eye treatment.
Pain factor Getting to the airport early enough for the in-suite treatment is the only downside.
Downtime Luxury treatment: 30 minutes; express treatment: 10 minutes.
Results Perfectly prepped skin for long-haul flights.
Where to get it Sydney International Departures at the Heinemann duty-free area. All treatments and services can be reserved at laprairie.com.au.
At home Indulge in whatever you bought at the counter – perhaps the Skin Caviar Liquid Lift Serum (laprairie.com.au, $800).
Trend: Hair Revitalisers
Want to keep locks looking lush? Aesop's treatment should be applied weekly for half an hour then washed out, Eleven's hero is a great leave-in conditioner and Aveda's Daily Hair Repair protects from punishing heat styling.

Comprising four dusky eyeshadows, Chanel's Les 4 Ombres in Blurry Grey ($100) is simply sublime. Wear the colours on their own, or blend to create your own favourite combination. One last tip: invest in an eyeshadow brush if you don't already have one to get perfectly blended coverage.

My hair is oily at the roots and dry at the ends. What can I do? Limit shampooing to every other day and avoid using conditioner on the roots.
On days between washes, dry shampoo absorbs the oil that flattens hair, giving volume and lift. Try Klorane Gentle Dry Shampoo with oat milk (woolworths.com.au, $13).
