JAIPUR: Deputy chief minister and rural development minister
Sachin Pilot would be making his first field visits to
Sirohi,
Jalore and Pali districts on June 9 and 10 to review and inspect the progress of various schemes under the rural development,
panchayati raj and PWD departments.
The officers who have been asked to accompany him are commissioner MRNREGA; special secretary rural development department; secretary, PWD and project director, SAP, secretaries of panchayati raj department and other officials of PWD, rural development and panchayati raj department.
Even as ACS rural development department Rajeshwar Singh and MGNREGA commissioner P C Kishan were not present on Friday, deputy chief minister Sachin
Pilot finally took a meeting with department officials amid uncertainty over holding the meeting since yesterday.
During the meeting, Pilot expressed displeasure over not spending the allocated funds in various schemes last year. Stating that lack of resources would not be allowed, he also directed that the chief executive officers (CEOs) of the districts must be told to prepare task proposals for various welfare schmes and send them at the earliest. Drawing attention of the officials towards the water crisis in the state, Pilot said that for a plan must be prepared for
rainwater harvesting to ensure water conservation. Under MNREGA, a pilot project for water harvesting must also be prepared.
He instructed to appoint an additional female worker to take care of small children of the women labourers at MGNREGA sites, apart from ensuring availability of water and medical kit. He also gave emphasis on training of MNREGA workers.
