Is The Porsche Cayenne Coupe As Sporty As Its Design Suggests?

The Cayenne Turbo Coupe sure looks more aggressive and sportier than the ‘regular’ Cayenne, but does it drive any differently?

Porsche recently held the international launch of the Cayenne Coupe in Europe, where journalists had the opportunity to experience the new SUV. Auto Express were among them and the review below is certainly worth a watch for anyone considering making this their next purchase.

Like the slightly-more-practical Cayenne Turbo, the Coupe is powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 with 542 hp and 568 lb-ft (770 Nm) of torque, propelling the vehicle to 60 mph (97 km/h) in a snappy 3.7 seconds and through to a 178 mph (286 km/h) top speed.

As the name of the vehicle implies, the most significant changes over the regular model are a more tapered roof design and a steeply raked rear window. But as the reviewer points out, the Coupe doesn’t seem to have any more performance and differences between the two are difficult to detect. Which maybe shouldn’t surprise us too much, as vehicles like this are primarily all about looks and not necessarily meant to be any sportier than their more traditionally-shaped brethren.
