PUNE: Completing 50 years of its existence, Pune’s much acclaimed Jnana Prabodhini Prashala has organised several programmes to celebrate its golden jubilee, beginning June 9 onwards. In an event on the same day, the Postmaster General will be launching a special postal stamp dedicated to the school.

Industrialist Pramod Chaudhary and renowned scientist Raghunath Mashelkar will also be present at the inauguration event to be held at 5 am on June 9, at Shaheer Annabhau Sathe Auditorium, off Satara Road.

The 50th Foundation Day, and the activities that will follow will see a huge participation from the school’s alumni. There will be around 10 alumni meets throughout the year, that will help the former students get acquainted with each other and contribute to the school’s progress.

The 50th year will mark the launch of the school’s web portal. There will also be conferences on several topics in education and health. A film based on the school’s progress and the difference that it made in the past decade will also be launched.

To guide the teachers of other schools, Prabodhini will also be printing and distributing handbooks.

While the present building is proving to be smaller for the increasing number of students, the school has planned to look for a new place, where a spacious building with a large playground could be provided to the students.
